History of Computer Parts & Defination
What is a computer?
In a very simple
term computer is a machine who could perform many tasks like storing data, calculations
etc if we give a proper command through hardware and operating system.
What are the parts of computer?
There are 4 main parts of computer CPU or central
processing unit , Motherboard ,Input device ,output device .

What is CPU?
CPU (central processing unit) is the brain of the computer ,It performs the
command we give to the computer.
Example : Suppose I
want a book from my bag, my brain will
give command to my legs to go near my bag and command my eyes and hands to
search my book in my bag. Same way if I want to perform a task 3+4=? So if I
type 3+4= enter button in excel sheet I
will get the no 7 automatically . If I need to type a letter I will choose Msword
application. So basically CPU performs basic arithmetic ,logic, controlling commands
etc. But modern CPUs are microprocessors Now CPU is contained on a single metal oxide
semiconductor (MOS),Integrated circuit (IC)chip it may also include memory,
micro-controllers/systems on chip(SOC) some may even include two or more CPUs are
called cores. A CPU transfers data almost at the speed of light.
What is a Motherboard?
A Motherboard is
the most important part as all the parts are connected to it , the CPU ,the RAM ,the disk drive(CD,DVD,hard
disk) etc.
The components attached to
Motherboard are:
1.Most CPUs today have on die (GUI)graphics processing
unit are connected to Motherboard.
2. RAM
(Random Access Memory )stores the code or data to be accessed by CPU. Here the
data gets saved temporarily or for a short period of time. It can be for
anything if I ‘m browsing Internet, or
typing a letter, painting in paint brush etc Memory is needed to access
these application.
3.ROM(ReadOnly Memory) It permanently stores data
in the computer, BOIS(Basic Input Output system) , boot up ,reading etc before,
but new version have (UEFI)Unified Extensible Firmware Interface ,It also
manages data in the computer.
4.A MouseMouse is also attached to the motherboard it helps to point the location of the
cursor or object it is also used by right click,left click to copy etc.
5.It has many ports
facing outside for various other uses.
Permanent storage
of data is done in hard Drive .Hard drive/Solid state drive consists of flash
drive , Flash drive makes it faster than hard drive. Now a days it could be
seen in Smart phones.

7.Input Device :It is basically a hardware devices
which helps us to feed data to the computer Examples are Keyboard, webcam , touch-pad's Scanners,
Joystick ,Digital cameras ,Microphones etc. Hardware are the hands who help to
perform the task they take orders and sent it to CPU.
8.Output device : Device which help us to see the
result of our action What ever task
assigned to the computer could be seen
or checked here. Examples: Monitor Printer ,speaker ,Mouse ,Flash Drive ,SD
cards, GPS, TV, Video card etc.
